“I have been taking photographs my whole adult life. I started in high school, and was immediately drawn to the process and possibilities of photography. By the end of my senior year I was photographing weddings for one of the studios in Tucson, Arizona where I grew up. Later while studying commercial photography at Brooks Institute of Photography, I learned in detail the technical aspects, and craft of fine photography. I spent the next 20 years working as a commercial portrait photographer. All along I had my personal work—photographs I made for myself rather than for a client commission. In 1998, I began printing these personal photographs in platinum/palladium.

Finally I had found a combination of craft that spoke clearly what I wanted to say with my work. For me, the fine platinum/ palladium print is the perfect expression of my work. For the last 9 years I have been spending more and more time on my work and refining my printing technique. These days I spend most of my time doing my work and making fine art platinum prints, and do only a select few portrait commissions. I currently live in Portland, Oregon with my wife and two small children.”
